Wax Jacket Liners

An essential winter accessory for your Barbour jacket.  Waxed cotton jackets are traditionally know for being waterproof, thornproof and durable but one thing they are not is warm.  Almost all Barbour jackets are uninsulated (one or two do have integral insulation) and require a separate liner which zips in during cooler weather to provide the necessary insulation.  This makes a waxed jacket very versatile and suitable for all seasons.

The original zip in liners had studs for fitting into the jacket.  Barbour have now discontinued the models of jacket that accepted these stud in liners so that liner is also now discontinued.  All current models of liner zip into the appropriate jacket.  The traditional style is the Pile Lining and this zips into any colour of jacket, provided the liner and jacket are the same size.  There is also a Quilted Waistcoat / Zip In Liner that can zip in or be worn as a standalone garment.  When choosing this, make sure you select the right colour so the tartan lining of the liner matches that of the jacket.  See our Guide to Waxed jackets or contact us if you need assistance
