Text on mug reads: The Barn Owl (Tyto alba) is found in most parts of the world and its nesting sites are often found in old farm buildings, church towers and ruins. With its silent flight, fine eyesight and acute hearing, the Barn Owl is a superb hunter. Highly nocturnal, the owl prefers broken, open countryside and its diet consists mainly of rats and mice. Owls lay white eggs and clutches vary from 1 to 7 or more with both parents feeding the young.
